- €121m in claims paid out during the year;
- 2,600 is the number of customers receiving a payment;
- €332,000 is the average payment per day.
Income Protection
- €51m paid out for Income Protection / Wage Protector;
- Average age of claimant was age 46 for females and age 49 for males;
- 7.5 years is the average duration of a claim.
Specified Serious Illness
- €17.8m paid out for Serious Illness claims;
- Average age of diagnosis for females was 51 and for males 54;
- Female top 3 reasons for a claim – Breast Cancer 52%, Other Cancer 28%, Cardiac/Stroke 10%:
- Male top 3 reasons for a claim Cancer 56%, Cardiac 33%, Stroke 6%.
Life Cover
- €52.3m paid out for in Life Cover death benefits;
- 454 was the number of death claim payments;
- The top 3 reasons for a claim were Cancer, Cardiac & Respiratory.
