Life Insurance Claims Summary
- €64.2m paid out through 2024;
- Paid to 634 family members and beneficiaries;
- €100,500 was the average payment made;
- Age 69 years old was the average person’s age;
- €1,106,250 was the single largest payment;
- 54% of claims were Cancer and Heart related deaths.
Income Protection Claims Summary
- €10m was paid out in respect of Income Protection (salary insurance) claims;
- Paid to 384 claimants;
- €4,416 was the average monthly income protection payment;
- Age 48 was the average claimant age;
- Age 26 was the youngest claimant;
- The top three underlying reasons for claim were;
- 37% Cancer related;
- 19% Musculo-skeletal related;
- 15% Mental health related.
Serious Illness Claims Summary
- €24m was paid out for Specified Illness claims;
- Paid to 311 claimants;
- €77,300 was the average claim;
- Age 53 was the average claimant age;
- Top reason for Female claims was Cancer, accounting for 80%;
- Top reason for Male claims was similarly Cancer, accounting for 57%.
